Carlton Daley – Board Member, Grants Advisory

Carlton Daley is a dedicated educator and mentor with extensive experience in student support services, grant-funded programs, and academic development. He currently serves as the Director of the TRIO Student Support Services Program at Miami Dade College, North Campus, where he provides leadership in fostering student success. Additionally, he is an adjunct professor in the Social Sciences Department, where he engages students in critical discussions on history, political science, and social issues.

Carlton earned his Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, with a minor in history and political science. He later obtained a Master of Arts in History from Florida International University, deepening his expertise in historical research and analysis.

His career in education includes serving as Associate Director of the Educational Talent Search and Upward Bound Programs at Florida International University, where he played a pivotal role in securing and managing federal grants to support underrepresented students. Carlton’s commitment to youth development extends beyond academia—he has coached track and field at both the high school and collegiate levels and has been a mentor with the 5000 Role Models of Excellence for over 15 years.

With a passion for educational equity, student mentorship, and program development, Carlton brings valuable insight and expertise to CEO Financial Literacy Academy as a Board Member – Grants Advisory, supporting efforts to secure funding and expand access to financial literacy programs.

Position Summary:

The Board Member – Grants Advisory provides strategic guidance and oversight on grant opportunities, funding strategies, and compliance requirements for CEO Financial Literacy Academy. This individual will support the organization in identifying, applying for, and managing grants that align with its mission to provide financial literacy and workforce readiness education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Advise the board and executive leadership on grant funding strategies and opportunities.
  • Identify potential grant sources, including government, corporate, and foundation grants.
  • Assist in developing compelling grant proposals and ensuring compliance with funding requirements.
  • Review grant applications and provide recommendations to maximize funding success.
  • Monitor grant performance, reporting requirements, and financial accountability.
  • Establish relationships with grant-making organizations and key funding stakeholders.
  • Offer insights on policies and best practices for nonprofit grant management.
