Board Member – Education & Workforce Development Advisory
Position Summary:
The Education & Workforce Development Advisory Board Member provides strategic
guidance on curriculum development, career readiness programs, and workforce training initiatives
at CEO Financial Literacy Academy. This individual plays a crucial role in ensuring that the
organization’s educational programs effectively equip students with financial literacy,
employability skills, and leadership development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Educational Program Development
- Advise on the development and enhancement of financial literacy, career readiness, and workforce training programs.
- Ensure that educational initiatives align with current industry trends, labor market demands, and post-secondary pathways.
- Provide input on curriculum structure, learning outcomes, and instructional methodologies.
2. Workforce Readiness & Career Coaching
- Guide the development of internship, mentorship, and career placement programs.
- Support initiatives that help students build resume writing, interview preparation, and professional networking skills.
- Foster partnerships with local businesses, trade programs, and higher education institutions to expand career opportunities.
3. Student & Mentor Engagement
- Serve as a mentor and advocate for students in CEO Financial Literacy Academy programs.
- Promote initiatives that foster leadership, professional development, and soft skills training for students.
- Support workshops and training sessions to prepare students for college admissions, scholarships, and workforce entry.
4. Partnership & Community Engagement
- Assist in securing partnerships with schools, community organizations, and corporate sponsors to enhance educational programming.
- Advocate for funding, resources, and policy support that benefit workforce and career readiness efforts.
- Represent the organization in educational panels, networking events, and community outreach programs.
5. Advisory & Strategic Planning
- Provide recommendations on educational grants, scholarship opportunities, and funding sources for student programs.
- Collaborate with the executive team to set long-term strategic goals for workforce development and financial education initiatives.
- Evaluate program impact and provide feedback on areas of improvement and innovation.
Qualifications:
- Experience in education, career coaching, workforce development, or organizational leadership.
- Strong knowledge of college and career readiness programs, youth mentorship, and student success strategies.
- Ability to build strategic partnerships with schools, businesses, and workforce organizations.
